Technician Safety Information

WARNING: Before testing vehicle, turn the ignition switch to off or lock position, apply parking brake and put the vehicle in park or neutral.

^ Ignition systems present a shock hazard; exercise care and always use insulated pliers when performing spark test.

^ Avoid creating an arc between an ignition spark source and any fuel related component.

^ Do not crank the engine if there is a fuel leak or spillage present.

^ Always wear appropriate eye protection.

^ Do not touch transistor on control unit when the ignition switch is on, as it will cause an electrical shock.

^ Block the drive wheels, as a safety routine, before beginning any service with the vehicle on the ground.

^ Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Use jackstands, on a flat, level, hard surface.
