Surges and/or Chuggles

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION:
This condition occurs when; engine power varies under steady throttle or cruise. Feels like the vehicle speeds up and slows down with no change in the accelerator pedal.


POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION


Voltage Output ^ Check for proper secondary output voltage with spark tester.


Spark plugs ^ Check for wet plugs, cracks, wear, improper gap, burned electrodes or heavy deposits.


Ignition Timing ^ Check distributor indexing.


PCM ^ Check for fault codes and proper ignition grounds.
