Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection

If the Upshift, Brake, Check Anti-lock & Check Engine Indicator are all inoperative, check for an open in IGN line to cluster connector terminal C12. If C12 has battery voltage continue with diagnosis.

1. Check engine indicator as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch to Run position.
b. Jumper cluster connector terminal C5 to ground, lamp should light. If bulb is satisfactory, check for open circuit between C5 and PCM module pin 32. If satisfactory, replace PCM.
