Overdrive Off Switch

The overdrive off switch is located in the instrument panel. The switch is a momentary device that controls energizing voltage to the overdrive solenoid.

The normal position for the control switch is the "ON" position. The switch must be in this position to energize the solenoid and allow a fourth gear upshift.

The control switch has an indicator light. The light illuminates when the overdrive switch is turned to the "OFF" position, or when illuminated by the transmission control module. The indicator light also flashes to signal trouble codes for diagnostic purposes.
