"No Response" Fault Code with DRB III or MDS Usage
MODELS:
1995 (ZJ) Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN 08/19/94 AND 08/23/94 (MDH 08-19-XX AND 08-23-XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A "No Response" fault code may be displayed when MDS or DRB III are connected to the CCD Data Link Connector located near the steering column.
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect the CCD Data Link Connector located near the steering column. It should be wired as shown. If the wires in cavities 1 and 5 are reversed, the scan tool will display a "No Response" fault code.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves correcting the wiring in the [1][2]diagnostic connector.
1. Remove the locking wedge from the [1][2]diagnostic connector insulator.
2. Reposition the wires to the correct locations as shown above.
3. Install the locking wedge.
