AW-4 4-Speed

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove transmission oil pan drain plug and drain fluid.

2. Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan, then the oil screen bolts and screen, Fig 3.
3. Clean mating surfaces of pan, transmission and screen using suitable solvent. Dry pan and screen using compressed air.
4. Install screen with a new gasket and tighten bolts to specifications.
5. Apply a bead of RTV sealer, or equivalent, to the pan gasket surface, then install pan and drain plug, tightening bolts and plug to specifications.
6. Fill transmission to proper level. Start engine and shift transmission through entire gear range and back to Park, then check fluid level.
