Band Apply Servo: Service and Repair
1. Remove valve body as outlined under Valve Body/Service and Repair, then remove servo piston cover snap ring.Fig.20 Servo Cover & Piston Removal:
2. Remove servo piston and cover using compressed air through oil hole in servo boss, Fig. 20.
CAUTION: Do not use more air pressure then is necessary to remove piston.

3. Remove seal and O-ring from cover and piston, then inspect E-ring, piston, spring and retainer, piston rod and piston spring for excessive wear or damage, Fig. 21. Replace worn or damaged parts.
4. Install new seals on cover and piston. Lubricate servo components with clean transmission fluid, then install. Ensure servo piston rod is properly engaged in the second coast brake band.
