1. Remove valve body as outlined under Valve Body/Service and Repair, then remove accumulator pistons using compressed air, Fig. 26, through small feed hole next to each piston bore. Catch each piston in a shop towel as it is forced out of bore.

NOTE: Use only enough air pressure to remove piston. Tag each set of pistons and springs as they are removed.

2. Remove and discard piston O-ring seals. Clean pistons and springs with solvent, then inspect pistons and piston bores for excessive wear or damage. Replace case if piston bores are damaged.
3. Install new O-ring seals on pistons. Lubricate each assembly with clean transmission fluid and install into appropriate bore.
4. Install valve body, screen and pan, then add necessary transmission fluid.
