Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Drain transmission fluid, then remove oil pan and screen.
2. Disconnect solenoid wire connector, and mark or tag connectors, if more than one solenoid is being removed.
3. Remove solenoid to valve body attaching bolt, then the solenoids. Use caution not to lose any valve body components when solenoids are removed.
4. Clean oil filter and pan with solvent, then air dry.

5. Test solenoid by connecting an ohmmeter between the solenoid mounting bracket and solenoid wiring terminal, Fig. 14.
6. If ohmmeter does not show resistance of 11-15 ohms, replace the solenoid.
INSTALLATION
1. Position solenoids on valve body and install retaining bolts, then tighten to specifications. Connect feed wires to solenoids, install new gasket on oil screen, and install screen and attaching bolts. Tighten bolts to specifications.
2. Install oil pan and fill transmission with suitable fluid.
