1. Remove intake manifold as outlined previously.
2. Drain coolant from cylinder block.
3. If removing left cylinder head, remove oil dipstick tube retaining nut and power steering pump and bracket assembly, if equipped.
4. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold, then remove exhaust manifold.
5. Loosen rocker arm retaining nuts, position rocker arms aside, then remove pushrods.
6. If removing right cylinder head, remove alternator/air pump retaining bracket assembly.
7. Remove cylinder head retaining bolts, then the cylinder head.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Torque cylinder head bolts to specification in sequence shown in Fig. 7.
