The axle code number is attached to a tag located on the differential housing cover.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire/wheel assemblies, then the brake calipers and rotors.
3. Disconnect vacuum harness from shift motor and vent hose from axle housing.
4. Disconnect stabilizer bar, rod and center links, then the front propeller shaft, shock absorbers, steering damper and track bar from axle.
5. Position a suitable jack under axle, then disconnect upper and lower control arms at axle.
6. Carefully lower axle housing and remove from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque upper control arm attaching bolts to 55 ft. lbs., lower control arm attaching bolts to 133 ft. lbs., stabilizer bar link to 70 ft. lbs., and steering damper and track bar attaching nuts to 74 ft. lbs. When installing vent hose, secure hose away from the steering shaft U-joint.
