A. Brake Vacuum System Service Procedure
1. Locate the vacuum tank hose routed to the brake booster.2. Measure 3-1/2" (90 mm) from the booster end of the hose and cut the hose.
3. Connect the hose by installing the supplied orifice restrictor in the vacuum hose ends.
4. Raise vehicle on hoist.
Note:
There are two vacuum tanks that must be replaced. The tanks are located behind both ends of the front bumper.
5. Remove lower screw attaching rubber end cap to bottom of bumper.
6.. Pull end cap away to expose vacuum tank.
7. Remove hose from tank.
8. Remove the two screws attaching the tank to the bottom of the bumper.
9. Pull rubber end cap away and remove tank.
10. Follow above Steps 5 through 9 in reverse to install a new tank, using the supplied screws.
11. Replace the tank on the other side in the same manner.
