Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly from carburetor.
4. Mark and disconnect ignition wires from spark plugs.
5. Disconnect upper radiator hose and bypass hose from intake manifold.
6. Disconnect electrical connectors from coolant temperature gauge valve.
7. Remove ignition coil bracket and position aside.
8. Disconnect heater hoses from intake manifold.
9. Mark and disconnect all vacuum hoses and electrical connectors from carburetor.
10. Disconnect throttle and throttle valve linkage from carburetor and intake manifold.
11. Disconnect air lines from air injection manifold.
12. Disconnect diverter valve from air pump output line and position aside.
13. Remove carburetor from engine.
14. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
15. Reverse procedure to install. Torque intake manifold bolts to 43 ft. lbs.
