Oil Pump Replacement

Fig. 19 Oil pump assembly:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain oil from engine.
4. Remove oil pan as described under ``Oil Pan, Replace.''
5. Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque oil pump short bolts to 10 ft. lbs. Torque oil pump long bolts to 17 ft. lbs.
