Side Air Bag Module

Removal
1 Make the SRS system safe. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering
2 Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Specifications
3 Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to Front Seat Removal and Replacement




4 Release the front seat backrest cover lower tension straps.
- Release from the seat frame.




5 Release the 9 front seat backrest cover rear panel retaining clips.
- Release from the backrest cover.
- Release from the seat frame.
6 Release the 5 front seat backrest cover lower retaining clips.
- Release from the seat frame.




7 Release the front seat backrest cover central tension straps.
- Release from the seat frame.




8 Remove the side air bag module.
- Remove and discard the 2 nuts.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the backrest cover.

Installation
1 Install the side air bag module.
- Attach the backrest cover.
- Tighten the new nuts to 7 Nm (5 lb.ft).
- Connect the electrical connector.
2 Secure the front seat backrest cover central tension straps.
- Attach to the seat frame.
3 Secure the front seat backrest cover lower retaining clips.
- Attach to the seat frame.
4 Secure the front seat backrest cover rear panel retaining clips.
- Attach to the seat frame.
- Attach to the backrest cover.
5 Secure the front seat backrest cover lower tension straps.
- Attach to the seat frame.
6 Install the front seat. For additional information, refer to Front Seat Removal and Replacement
7 Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover. For additional information, refer to Specifications
