Wind Noise From Roof Opening Panel - Panel Profile Set Incorrectly - Service Action S161
ISSUE:
A concern has been identified with wind noise from the roof opening panel on 2004 MY S-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range. The roof opening panel profile was set incorrectly during assembly potentially up to +4 mm on the rear edge.
Action:
Check all vehicles and where applicable reset the roof opening panel profile to the required -1 mm to flush specification. See Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 501-17 General Procedures Roof Opening Panel Alignment.
A number of vehicles have been reworked at the factory, before shipment, and do not require any further work under the terms of this Service Action.
These vehicles are listed in this Service Action.
Parts Information:
No parts are required for this repair.
Warranty Information:
Warranty claims should be submitted quoting program code S161 together with the relevant option code from Table 1 of this Service Action. This will result in payment of the stated time.
The options that allow for drive in/drive out can only be claimed when the vehicle has been brought into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.
The SROs listed above have been entered for information only There is no requirement to enter the SROs onto the claim.
NOTE:
Always perform a DDW claim search first to determine whether this service action has been performed on this vehicle. The "Review Claim History" function will provide a listing of all claims against the vehicle. If this service action number appears in the program code field do not perform this service action.
