Inability To Open/Close Luggage Compartment Lid - Actuator Binding - Revised Actuator Available

Issue:

Some 2002-04 MY X-TYPE vehicles, within the above VIN range, may exhibit a condition where the user cannot open or close the luggage compartment lid manually or using the key or luggage compartment button.

Temperature and humidity changes can affect the internal components of the luggage compartment lid actuator, causing the actuator to bind.

Action:

In case of a customer complaint of the above condition, install a modified luggage compartment lid latch actuator. Refer to Workshop Manual, section: 501-14, SRO 76.19.25.
