Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to Body and Frame.





2. Disconnect the parking brake warning indicator switch electrical connector.
3. Release the parking brake.
4. Remove the rear road wheels and tires. For additional information, refer to Steering and Suspension.
5. Remove the driveshaft. For additional information refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
6. Remove the exhaust front muffler. For additional information, refer to Exhaust System.





7. Detach the parking brake rear cables.





8. Remove the exhaust front heat shield.





9. Remove the exhaust rear heat shield.





10. Remove the parking brake control retaining nuts.
11. Lower the vehicle.





12. Detach the parking brake control.
1. Detach the parking brake cable grommet.
2. Detach the parking brake control.





13. Remove the parking brake control.
1. Align the flat on the nipple to clear the spring.
2. Remove the parking brake control.

Installation





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Tighten to 20 Nm.
