Retorque Idler Pulley - Supercharged Vehicles - Service Action S151
Issue:
On 4.2L Supercharged S-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range the supercharger idler pulley bolt has been incorrectly torqued to 25 Nm instead of the specified 40 Nm. If the bolt becomes loose the idler pulley may oscillate causing a loss of tension of the supercharger drive belt. This will cause a loss of drive to the supercharger. Vehicle which have not been checked at the ports are listed in this bulletin.
Action:
At the next available opportunity, apply the correct torque of 40 Nm to all vehicles listed on the shown VIN list.
WORKSHOP PROCEDURE
1. Open hood and fit fender covers.
2. Locate the supercharger idler pulley (Illustration 1).
3. Using a 15 mm AF standard socket and a suitable torque wrench, set to 40 Nm, torque the bolt to 40 Nm.
4. Remove covers protectors and close hood.
