New Special Tools

ISSUE:





The five new special tools are required to perform certain repair operations on 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles.

ACTION:

Review the following instructions for the use of the new tools.

76150/7 VALVE SEAT CUTTER TOOL (7 mm):

MS 76150/7 is a 7 mm expandable pilot used when cutting M16 intake and exhaust valve seats.

Use with valve seat cutters MS 204, MS 621, and handle set MS 76.

JD 200 SLIDING ROOF SEAL CRIMPING TOOL:

JD 200 is a special pair of pliers used to crimp the sliding roof (sunroof) seal.





The tool has an anvil which can be rotated to use the flat or radiused edge. (Illustration 1)





Use the flat edge to crimp straight sections of the seal as shown in Illustration 2.

Use the radiused edge for the curved corners of the seal. When using the radiused edge, move the tool slightly between each crimp.

JD 201 FRONT FOG LAMP REMOVAL TOOL:

JD 201 is a plastic blade for releasing the spring clips retaining the fog lamp in the vehicle.

NOTE:
To remove a fog lamp always start at the inboard side of the lamp.





1. Slide the tool between the fog lamp and housing on the inboard side of the fog lamp [1, Illustration 3]. Gently press the end of the tool away from the fog lamp to release the spring clip on that side.

2. To release the other spring, repeat the operation on the outboard side of the fog lamp [2, Illustration 3], pressing the end of the tool away from the fog lamp.

3. Remove the tool, then withdraw the fog lamp.

JD 202 FACIA VENT REMOVAL TOOL:





JD 202 is a two legged plastic hook for removing facia vents (Illustration 4).





1. Squeeze the legs of the tool and insert as shown in Illustration 5. When released, the legs will hook on the rear face of the vent

2. Pull on the tool to remove the vent from the facia.

JD 203 QUICK-FIT CONNECTION RELEASE TOOL:

JD 203 consists of two hinged plastic sleeves for releasing the fuel lines from the quick fit connectors. Connectors are of two different sizes.

WARNING:
Observe all safety precautions when working around fuel.





1. Place the tool around the fuel line as shown in Illustration 6.

2. Push the tool fully into the connector to release the fuel line retainer.

3. Remove the fuel line with the tool in place.

NOTE:
The tool is required only to disconnect the fuel lines. To connect, slide the fuel line fully into the connector assuring that it is securely engaged in the retainer.
