Climate Control System - Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart

The climate control system on 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles can display Diagnostic Trouble Codes at the control panel. While the DTCs are not as detailed or complete as those read by PDU, they may be of assistance when a PDU is not immediately available. In addition, when retrieving DTCs using PDU, it is possible that DTCs may display in the OBDII format, which the PDU cannot define. The cross reference chart in this bulletin shows the PDU DTC, the OBDII DTC, and the control panel code.

RETRIEVING CODES USING THE CONTROL PANEL

1. Depress and hold both the AUTO and the recirculation buttons while switching the ignition ON. Release buttons. This starts the display element check. All LCDs and LEDs will flash.

2. Press the AUTO button. If zero is displayed, no codes are stored. Stored diagnostic trouble codes are displayed in sequence.

3. Press the face airflow button to scroll through the stored codes (maximum of 5).

4. Press the face airflow button and the heated rear window button to clear any stored DTCs.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each stored code.

6. Press the fan button to exit the code read out mode.
