With the launch of the 1994 MY 6.0L XJS V12, Jaguar Cars is pleased to announce a new customer care program - Free Schedule Maintenance and Loaner Car for the duration of the 48 month 50,000 mile warranty. All new 1994 MY XJS V12 vehicles purchased or leased are eligible until further notice. For complete details, please refer to the Program Rules which have been sent to your Dealer Principal and Sales Department.
Schedule Maintenance
Under this program, owners are entitled to a maximum of five maintenance services during the warranty period of their XJ12 vehicle. The first service is performed at 10,000 miles, and each 10,000 mile interval thereafter. A service should be performed at least once per year. Beginning with the 1994 model year, the 1000 mile service has been eliminated. A detailed Maintenance Schedule is included identifying the operations to be performed at each service interval.
Each time a service has been completed, the Maintenance Service Record in the Passport To Service must be completed and stamped by the servicing dealer.
Reimbursement Procedures
Dealer reimbursement for regularly scheduled maintenance will be paid through the warranty System using standard campaign submission procedures. Each service has been assigned a code, similar in format to a Service Action that will indicate in the vehicle history file that a service has been performed.
Reimbursement for each service will be issued one time only. It is the servicing dealer's responsibility to determine if a service has already been performed. DCS dealers can accomplish this by using DCS vehicle inquiry, warranty selection. Non-DCS dealers should contact their Jaguar Cars Warranty Specialist for a vehicle history check.
Parts will be reimbursed at Jaguar Cars Inc. suggested retail price. When the maintenance claim is submitted, parts will be priced at dealer cost plus 40% handling, a sublet amount will then be added to increase reimbursement to suggested retail. For each service, a sublet allowance will be paid for consumables such as oils and fluids. This allowance also covers waste disposal.
Changing of coolant and brake fluid will be reimbursed as part of the 20,000 and 40,000 mile services and should be performed at these intervals.
Refer to the tables to determine the Repair Code for the applicable service and a listing of the parts, labor hours, and sublet allowances that will be reimbursed.
Wear and Tear Parts and Adjustments
The following wear and tear service parts and service adjustments are the only wear and tear parts and adjustments covered under this program:
Service Parts:
Light bulbs (interior and exterior)
Brake pads
Windshield wipers
Batteries
Service Adjustments:
Body panel alignment
Glass alignment
Suspension alignment
Wheel and tire balancing
Headlight aiming
Engine adjustments
Wear and tear service parts and service adjustments are covered under the New Car Warranty for a period of 12 months, 12,500 miles. All claims for these parts and adjustments during the first 12 months, 12,500 miles should be submitted using the appropriate fault code for the work performed as listed in the Warranty Codes and Repair Operation Times Manual.
Wear and tear parts and adjustments required after 12 months, 12,500 miles should be submitted using fault code 9XWT. Describe the repair in the Comments section of the claim.
Claims for wear parts must include only the part and labor to replace it. Claims for service adjustments must be for labor only - if parts are required submit as a normal warranty claim using the appropriate fault code.
Improperly submitted claims are subject to rejection.
Loaner Car
Each owner is eligible for a replacement vehicle while their vehicle is in for service or warranty repairs. Jaguar Cars will reimburse the dealer $30.00 per day for replacement vehicle services. A maximum of one day will be permitted for normal service and a maximum of five days for warranty repairs.
Replacement car services should be listed on the service or warranty repair order. If a separate repair order is opened for the replacement car it must be cross-referenced to the service or warranty repair order. All replacement car receipts must be attached to the repair order and stored in the vehicle file.
Reimbursement Procedures
Reimbursement will be paid through the warranty system using standard claim submission procedures. Claims must be submitted using fault code 9XRC with the reimbursement amount entered as a sublet. In the claim comments section indicate the number of days for which a replacement car was provided; this number when multiplied by $30.00 should equal the sublet amount.
When scheduled maintenance coincides with warranty repairs a maximum of five days for a loaner car may be claimed.
All claims and records pertaining to replacement car services are subject to audit and chargeback if not properly documented.
