Trip Computer - Removal Procedure

ISSUE:

Trip computer damage when it is forcefully removed from the fascia.

ACTION:

When removing the trip computer use the following procedure:

^ Disconnect the battery ground lead.

^ Remove the interior light switch from the right side of the trip computer. Refer to Repair Operation 86.65.35 in the XJS Repair Manual.

^ Remove the hazard warning and heated rear window switch from the left side of the trip computer. Refer to Repair Operation 86.65.35 in the XJS Repair Manual.





^ Remove trip computer mounting screws on each side of the computer, (Fig. 1 A).

^ Disconnect the trip computer electrical multi-plug from the bulkhead harness and remove the trip computer.
