Speedometer Head: Description and Operation
SPEEDOMETERDESCRIPTION
Two forms of speedometer are provided; analogue and digital. The analogue speedometer is calibrated up to 150 mph (240 kph), and the digital provides the metric or imperial equivalent of the analogue speed indicated. Each device is operated by a pulse signal generated by a sensor located in the rear axle. This signal equates to 7870 pulses per mile (4920 pulses per kilometer) and is transmitted to the pack at B52- 11 and 12. The signal is also processed and transmitted, via B52-10, to the Engine Management System, the Speed Control System and the speed warning module (if fitted).
