Front

1. Slacken off the front road wheel nuts 1/4 turn each.
2. Jack up the front of the vehicle and support with axle stands.
3. Remove one wheel nut, mark the wheel relative to the stud, and remove the remaining wheel nuts. Remove the road wheel and tyre assembly.





4. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor block connector.





5. Remove the lower guide pin bolt from the caliper (1), and pivot the caliper upwards to gain access to the brake pads (2).

NOTE: Use an open-ended spanner to hold the guide pin during removal. This will prevent damage to the rubber dust cover.

6. Remove the brake pads.
7. Taking all necessary safety precautions remove the brake dust from around the caliper area.

WARNING: BRAKE LINING DUST CAN CONTAIN ASBESTOS WHICH IF INHALED, CAN DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH. ALWAYS USE A VACUUM BRUSH TO REMOVE DRY BRAKE LINING DUST. NEVER USE AN AIR LINE.

8. Fit the replacement brake pads to the carrier. Ensure that the caliper piston is fully retracted.
9. Swing the caliper down over the brake pads, align the lower bolt hole and fit a new lower guide pin bolt. Fit a new upper guide pin bolt.
10. Tighten the upper and lower guide pin bolts. Reconnect the pad wear sensor block connector and secure behind the clip.
11. Lift the road wheel and tyre assembly up to the hub. Align the wheel with the marked stud. Fit and tighten the securing nuts.
