Shift Linkage: Adjustments

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove gear selector knob, then carefully pry electric window switch panel away from center console. Do not disconnect window switches.
3. Remove trim panel screws (2) Fig. 1. Withdraw trim panel slightly to obtain access to cigar lighter and door lock switch terminals.
4. Note installed position of cigar lighter and door lock switch terminals. Disconnect terminals and remove trim panel (3) Fig. 1.
5. Loosen locknuts on outer cable at abutment bracket (1) Fig. 2.
6. Position transmission selector lever in neutral (2) and center console selector lever in neutral (3) Fig. 2.
7. Tighten locknuts, ensure selector levers do not move and a small amount of freeplay is evident.
8. Reconnect cigar lighter and door lock switch terminals.
9. Install trim panel and connect electric window switch panel in center console.
10. Install gear selector knob.
