1. Remove right hand air cleaner cover and loosen air pump mounting and adjusting bolts. WARNING: DO NOT LOOSEN BOLTS TO THE EXTENT THAT THEY BIND ON THE AIR PUMP PULLEY.
2. Adjust belt until a force of approximately 6.4 lbs (2.9 kg) causes a deflection of about .22 inch (5.6 mm) in the belt at the midpoint between the air pump and the air conditioning compressor, Fig. 4.
3. Tighten the adjusting locknut and air pump mounting bolts. Refit right hand air cleaner cover.
