EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET- RHRENEW
Drive the car on to a ramp. Open the bonnet. Release the RH air cleaner toggle clips (1 Fig 1), remove the cover and element (2 Fig 1).
Raise the ramp.
Remove the RH intermediate pipe/front pipe clamp (3 Fig 3) securing nuts/bolts. Displace the intermediate pipe from the front pipe (2 Fig 3).
Remove the RH front pipe heat shield securing nuts, displace the heat shield for access.
Remove the starter motor heat shield securing bolts, release and ease the heat shield away from the working area.
Remove all accessible manifold securing nuts. Lower the ramp.
Slacken off the alternator link arm pivot bolt (2 Fig 2). Slacken off the nut securing the trunnion block. Slacken off the nut securing the adjusting link bolt (1 Fig 2).
Slacken off the adjusting link lock nut.
Wind back the adjusting link nut until the belt can be removed. Manoeuvre the belt (3 Fig 2) clear.
Release the alternator from the bracket. Remove the mounting bracket/idler pulley assembly. Remove the manifold heat shield securing bolts and '~ remove the shield (1 Fig 3).
Remove the remaining manifold securing nuts, and remove the front and rear manifolds.
Remove and discard the gaskets. Clean the gasket faces.
Fit new gaskets to the cylinder head. . Fit the rear manifold. Fit and tighten the upper securing nuts.
Fit the front manifold. Fit and tighten the securing nuts. Refit the heat shield.
Refit the mounting bracket/idler pulley assembly. Refit the alternator. Fit the fan belt. Tension the belt. Tighten the adjusting link lock nut.
Tighten the nut securing the adjusting link bolt. Tighten the nut securing the trunnion block. Tighten the alternator link arm pivot bolt. Raise the ramp.
Fit and tighten the remaining manifold securing nuts. Fit new sealing rings to the front pipe.
Locate the front pipe assembly into position.
Fit the front pipe to the manifold. Fit but do not fully tighten the securing nuts.
Refit the heat shield. Fit but do not fully tighten the heat shield securing nuts.
Final tighten the front pipe securing nuts. Final tighten the heat shield securing nuts. Lower the ramp.
Refit the RH air cleaner. Run the engine and check for leaks.
