Oil Pump: Service and Repair
1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Support engine, then remove right side engine mount and support bracket.
4. Remove drive belts.
5. Remove timing belt. Timing Belt
6. Remove oil pan. Oil Pan

7. Remove oil pump front cover bolts, taking care not to damage mating surfaces, remove assembly from engine Fig. 59.
Fig. 60 Areas To Apply Sealant:
8. Reverse procedures to install, noting the following:
a. Remove all traces of old sealant from mating surfaces.
b. Care should be taken not to apply sealant No. TB 1207C, or equivalent, to oil transfer port areas of mating surfaces Fig. 60
c. When replacing crankshaft oil seal use installation tool No. J-35269, or equivalent.
d. Tighten bolts to specifications.
