AFFECTED VEHICLES

1990-91 Impulse (JI) models equipped with cruise control.

SERVICE INFORMATION

On some affected vehicles, thc cruise control actuator cable may become damaged, preventing cruise control system operation. Installing a new, improved accelerator pedal lever will prevent this problem from reoccurring.

This Service Bulletin contains procedures for installing a new, improved accelerator pedal lever and actuator cable.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the accelerator pedal lever as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

2. Remove the cruise control actuator cable.

3. Install a new actuator cable and two new washers (see "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin).


4. Install a new, improved accelerator pedal lever (see "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin).

5. Adjust the accelerator cable as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

6. Adjust the cruise control actuator cable as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

7. Test drive the vehicle to ensure proper cruise control operation.
