Battery Precautions

When working with batteries observe the following precautions:

1. Never use a booster/starter with a voltage rating above 12 volts to start engine.

2. Be sure the battery is properly connected--prior to starting engine.

3. Do not disconnect battery when engine is running.

4. Disconnect battery cables prior to charging battery.

5. Avoid creating sparks near battery--automotive batteries contain sulfuric acid and produce explosive hydrogen gas.
