Steering Column Jacket Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in Restraint Systems.

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.
3. Inspect the steering column for accident damage.
4. Remove the steering column tilt head.
5. Remove the jacket (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the jacket (2).
2. Install the steering column tilt head (1).
3. Install the steering column to the vehicle.
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in Restraint Systems.
