Canister Purge Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

Remove canister from vehicle and apply approximately 7.5 psi air pressure to ``VC'' port. Air should not leak from diaphragm. Using a suitable vacuum pump, apply 15 inches Hg vacuum to ``Purge'' port of canister. Vacuum should gradually be applied to ``VC'' port and the purge control valve should begin to open at 7.1-8.7 inches Hg vacuum. If valve does not open, replace valve.
