Tightening Torques
CYLINDER HEAD BOLTSIf cylinder head bolts are re-used, check their outer diameters before installation. Refer to Inspection
Tighten all cylinder head bolts
Tightening Torque 105 N�m (11 kg-m, 77 ft-lb)
Completely loosen all cylinder head bolts in the reverse order
Tightening Torque 0 N�m (0 kg-m, 0 ft-lb)
Tightening Torque 40.0 N�m (4.1 kg-m, 30 ft-lb)
Turn all cylinder head bolts 95 degrees clockwise
Turn all cylinder head bolts 95 degrees clockwise again
INTAKE MANIFOLD
1st step:
Tightening Torque 7.4 N�m (0.75 kg-m, 5 ft-lb)
2nd step and after:
Tightening Torque 25.5 N�m (2.6 kg-m, 19 ft-lb)
CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP
Tightening Torque 1.96 N�m (0.20 kg-m, 1 ft-lb)
Tightening Torque 5.88 N�m (0.60 kg-m, 4 ft-lb)
Tightening Torque 10.4 N�m (1.1 kg-m, 8 ft-lb)
EXHAUST MANIFOLD
Tightening Torque 30.5 Nm (3.1 kg-m, 22 ft-lb)
MAIN BEARING CAP BOLTS
Tighten bolts No. 17 to 26 25.0 N�m (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)
Repeat step
Tighten bolts No. 1 to 16 35.3 N�m (3.6 kg-m, 26 ft-lb)
Turn bolts No. 1 to 16 90 degrees
CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
Crankshaft pulley bolt 44.1 N�m (4.5 kg-m, 33 ft-lb)
Tighten the bolt 90 degrees (one mark) (b)
CONNECTING ROD
Tightening Torque 28.4 N�m (2.9 kg-m, 21 ft-lb)
Completely loosen connecting rod bolts
Tightening Torque 0 N�m (0 kg-m, 0 ft-lb)
Tighten connecting rod bolts
Tightening Torque 24.5 N�m (2.5 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)
Then turn connecting rod bolts 90 degrees clockwise (angle tightening)
OIL PUMP
Tightening Torque 6.9 Nm (0.7 kg-m, 61 in-lb)
WATER PUMP
Tightening torque 9.6 Nm (0.98, 85 in-lb)
Tighten mounting bolts alternately and evenly
FLYWHEEL/FLEX PLATE
Tightening torque 88.0 Nm (9.0 kg-m, 65 ft-lb)
Tighten the mounting bolts crosswise over several times
