TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT CHECK




DIAGNOSTIC CHART




PARTS DESCRIPTION
The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in D4, by the A/T control unit in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and throttle position sensors. Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled.
Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when ATF temperature is too low.




TROUBLE JUDGEMENT CONDITIONS

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE




CONSULT
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".
2) Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode with CONSULT.
3) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.

OR




GENERIC SCAN TOOL
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".
2) Select "MODE 3" with GST.
3) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.

OR




NO TOOLS
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".
2) Perform self-diagnosis.
Refer to SELF-DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE (Without CONSULT).
3) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.
