Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

The triple pressure switch opens and closes to interrupt A/C compressor clutch electrical ground operation when A/C pressures are out of specification. When the switch closes, the cooling fans are turned on until optimum operating pressures are reached. When the system has cooled sufficiently, the switch opens again. The triple pressure switch is located on top of the receiver/dryer.
