Component Inspection

Camshaft Position Sensor:

1. Remove camshaft position sensor from engine. (Camshaft position sensor harness connector should remain connected.)
2. Turn ignition switch "ON".
3. Rotate camshaft position sensor shaft slowly by hand and check voltage between terminals:
- (1) and ground.
- (2) and ground.

Voltage Readings
Pin terminal 1. (1° signal) alternates between 5 Volts and 0 Volts.
Pin terminal 2. (120° signal) alternates between 5 Volts and 0 Volts.
If Not Good, replace camshaft position sensor.

NOTE: After this inspection, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) No.11 might be displayed though the camshaft position sensor is functioning properly. In this case erase the stored memory.
