PURPOSE
The Inhibitor Switch signals the Engine Control Module (ECM) of gear position.

OPERATION
When the gear position is in "P" or "N", park/neutral position is "ON". The ECM detects the position because the continuity of the circuit (the "ON" signal) exists.
