Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove hydraulic lash adjuster noting the following:
a. If hydraulic lash adjuster is kept on its side, there is a risk of air entering it. After removal, always set hydraulic lash adjuster straight up, or when laying in on it side, have it soak in new motor oil.
b. Do not disassemble hydraulic lash adjuster.
c. Attach identifying tags to valve lifters.

3. Using suitable tool, remove valve components parts.

ASSEMBLY
Coat all components liberally with engine oil before installing.
1. Install valve components parts using new valve oil seals. Install outer valve spring with the narrow pitch side.
2. Tap valve stem lightly with plastic mallet after installing to ensure proper fit.
