Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Fuse Location:

REMOVAL
1. Remove the fuel pump fuse.
2. Turn the ignition key to the start position for approximately 15 seconds (this will release the fuel pressure).

Fuel Tank Tube Routing:

3. Remove the front trunk finisher.
4. Disconnect all connectors and tubes.

Fuel Pump Removal And Replacement:

5. Remove the hold-down bolts from the top of the fuel pump cover.
6. Lift the fuel pump assemble up, being careful not to damage the float.
7. Loosen clamp, separate fuel pump from gauge sender.

INSTALLATION
1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- always use a new O-ring under the pump cover.
- tighten cover bolts to specified torque: 2.0-2.5 Nm (1.4-1.9 ft.lbs.)
- re-install the fuel pump fuse.
- run engine and check for leaks at connections.
