Fuel Filler Cap: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Filler Cap:

- Wipe valve housing clean.
- Draw air through the tank side of the cap. The valve should click, allowing air to pass through it with a slight resistance. If suction is continued the resistance to flow should disappear with additional valve clicks. This indicates valve (A) is in good mechanical condition.
- Blow air on fuel tank side and ensure that continuity of air passage exists through valve (B).
- If valve is clogged or if no resistance is felt, repace cap as an assembly.
