High CO, Low or Normal HC - At Idle


This condition, at idle, is indicated by abnormally high carbon monoxide emissions while the hydrocarbon emissions remain low or normal.

POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION




ECCS system malfunction. Refer to On Board Diagnostics.



Dirty air filter(s). Clean or replace.



Saturated carbon canister
or malfunctioning canister purge system. Check evaporative emissions system.



Mixture ratio feedback control malfunction.




Exhaust leak or other false indicators
"Fooling" an oxygen sensor to
sense a lean condition. Check exhaust system for leaks.
Check air/fuel mixture.



Stuck or restricted
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV)
valve and/or hose. Inspect PCV system.
