Oil Pump Replacement

With the timing belt removed, avoid turning the camshaft or crankshaft. If movement is required, exercise extreme caution to avoid valve damage caused by piston contact.
1. Remove timing belt as outlined under Timing Belt.
2. Remove oil pan as outlined under Oil Pan, Engine.
3. Remove timing belt sprocket and timing belt plate from crankshaft.
4. Remove oil pump mounting bolts Fig. 64, then oil pump.
5. Reverse procedure to install, tighten fasteners to specifications.
