1992 Q45 CD AUTOCHANGER INSTALLATION

APPLIED MODELS: 1992 Q45

SERVICE INFORMATION:

When installing the new programmable CD Autochanger (PIN B8182-C9969) into the Q45, the following procedures must be performed to minimize unwanted electrical noise.






SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Disconnect (cut) Speaker Shield Wires.

a. After removing the radio chassis, locate connectors M77 and M78 (they were plugged into the rear of the chassis).
b. Locate the speaker shield wires shown in Figure 1.
c. Cut both of these wires about two (2) inches from the connector.
d. Wrap both ends of these wires with electrical tape.





2. Chassis Screw

a. On the rear of the radio chassis, locate and remove the screw shown in Figure 2, (arrow).
b. Install a 3 mm toothed lock washer onto the screw and reinstall into chassis.
c. Tighten securely.
