Fig. 4 Installing Coupler Joint To Shaft:

1. Disable airbag system, refer to Restraint Systems/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
2. Remove steering wheel, refer to STEERING WHEEL.
3. Remove steering column as shown in Fig. 2.
4. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. When installing column, loosely tighten all brackets and clamp attaching bolts. After all attaching bolts are installed, then secure all bolts.
b. When attaching coupler joint make sure cutout portion of shaft faces attaching bolt, Fig. 4.
