Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. As steering wheel is turned from side to side, lightly touching each steering stop, add fluid into reservoir to specified level.
3. Start engine and repeat step 2.
4. If air remains in system, one or more of following will occur:
a. Generation of air bubbles in reservoir tank.
b. Generation of clicking noise in steering pump.
c. Excessive buzzing in steering pump.
5. While vehicle is stationary or while turning steering wheel slowly, fluid noise may occur in valve or pump. This noise is inherent in the steering system and will not affect performance of durability of steering system.
