1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels.
2. Remove driveshaft bolts from companion flange, Fig. 1.
3. Pry driveshaft from differential carrier, Fig. 2. Then remove driveshaft.
4. Apply parking brake, remove bearing lock nut, then release parking brake.
5. Remove brake calipers and rotors.
6. Remove rear axle shafts using special tools ST07640000 and ST3623000 or equivalent, Fig. 3.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Install distance piece with large side facing axle shaft flange.
b. Tighten lock nut to specifications, then stake lock nut.
c. Check end play, axial movement should be 0.0020 inch.
