Valve Guide Seal: Service and Repair

Fig. 16 Valve Oil Seal Installed Position:

1. Remove rocker cover.
2. Remove rocker shaft assembly and valve lifters with lifter guide.
3. Remove valve springs and valve oil seal. Ensure piston is at TDC.
4. Remove valve oil seals.
5. Apply engine oil to new seal and install inner valve spring seat, then drive seal into place.
6. Ensure seal is properly installed, Fig. 16.
