SERVICE INFORMATION:
There is a possibility that the rear final drive side oil seal may be damaged when installing the drive shaft/side flange. Therefore, a side oil seal protector has been introduced. This tool may be ordered by completing a Kent-Moore order form or, for emergency orders, by calling 1-800-345-2233. For ordering information, review the Infiniti Service Facilities - Tools and Equipment Manual, "Special Tools Update," which was recently sent to all Infiniti Dealers. This Technical Bulletin shows how to use this protector (Figure 1) and identify appropriate tool numbers (Figure 2).
