SERVICE INFORMATION:

Some M30 vehicles, equipped with Automatic Transmissions having serial #'s and build dates before those listed above, may exhibit slipping or no movement in the "D" range. If a customer experiences this incident, check for operation in 1st, 2nd, and reverse gears. If the transmission operates normally in each of these ranges, inspect the forward clutch snap ring [Figure 1]. If the forward clutch snap ring has popped out of it's groove, replace the forward clutch assembly.
